Holidays & Breaks in Yorkshire
Yorkshire is one of the most diverse regions of the UK for a staycation with a mixture of excellent city breaks, a vast amount of countryside and an incredible amount of things to do and see. Whether you are looking for a getaway with family, friends, a partner or solo, Yorkshire has all bases covered for a short or long trip away.
Yorkshire City Breaks
City breaks are extremely popular in Yorkshire and people from all over the country flock to one of the region’s great cities. Leeds is the largest and combines the very best of up-and-coming trendy bars and restaurants with a historical past - most of which can be admired in the city centre and around the university campus. Sheffield is another lively city which is worth a weekend away at any time of the year. York is one of the smallest and most charming cities in Yorkshire with its grand cathedral, cosy pubs and cobbled streets.
Yorkshire Cottage Breaks
Cottage breaks are available all across Yorkshire due to its seamless integration with the moors and Yorkshire Dales. These Dales feature row-upon-row of luscious green valleys, vast cliff faces and a number of amazing hiking trails. You will want to target this National Park for a lovely cottage break away. The North York Moors are also a prime spot for great cottages in the middle of the countryside at very reasonable prices.
Although it isn’t really known as a beach holiday destination, Yorkshire actually features one of the most popular beach resort towns in the whole country: Scarborough. Here you will find boat trips to visit seal colonies, good surfing conditions in the North Sea and some of the best fish and chip shops in the land!
