It is best to plan ahead for 2022 in order to get the very best deals including great savings, child prices and low deposits before the costs rocket up! In this blog, we run you through our 5 favourite destinations that you should be targeting for 2022…
Alcudia, Majorca
Alcudia is one of the best destinations that you can visit for some sizzling summer sunshine. The average flight time from the UK to Majorca is around two and a half hours and then a transfer or
drive to Alcudia will take you an extra 45 minutes or so. If you decide to get an early morning flight, you can be sipping cocktails by the pool by noon!
Alcudia offers something for everyone which is what makes it one of the most popular places in this part of the world. On Alcudia Beach you can relax amongst golden sands and go swimming in the crystal clear waters. For a fun day out with the kids, check out Hidropark Alcudia and for a bit of cultural sightseeing, take a look at the Ruines Romanes de Pollentia.
Marmaris, Turkey
Marmaris is a simply stunning Turkish destination and is one that you should definitely have on your shortlist for 2022. Flight times from the UK to Dalaman airport are around 7 hours long. The journey to Marmaris from there will be around another 90 minutes. Although the travel time is longer than some of the other destinations on our shortlist, it will certainly be worthwhile once you get there.
Marmaris is packed full of exciting things to do for visitors of all ages. It boasts two incredible water parks: Aqua Dream and Atlantis. Some authentic Turkish experiences like a traditional dance and dinner show as well as a wander through the Grand Bazaar are highly recommended. Boat trips, jet skiing and just relaxing on the beach are some great things to do by the coast.
Benidorm, Spain
Benidorm has long been one of our favourite destinations and that doesn’t look like it will change going into 2022. A flight to Alicante airport will take you around 2 hours and 40 minutes and from there, Benidorm is around a 45-minute drive away. With less than 3 and a half hours of total journeying time, you can be relaxing in the sunshine in no time.
As well as the classic sunshine, long beaches and cheap booze,
Benidorm also has a lot more to offer to visitors. Aqualandia is one of the largest water parks in the entire region of Valencia, Terra Mitica is a great day out and a visit to the famous Balcón de Mediterráneo is sure to provide some of the best holiday snapshots and Instagrammable photos that you can imagine.
Albufeira, Portugal
Albufeira is one of the most budget friendly destinations on this list and provides everything you would expect from an affordable holiday packed with sun, sea and sand. Flight times to Faro airport are approximately 3 hours long and a
transfer to Albufeira from there will take you just 50 minutes.
This holiday hotspot is packed full of exciting and relaxing things to do and see for visitors of all ages. Like most of the destinations on this list,
Albufeira has a fantastic water park. Zoomarine Algarve is guaranteed fun for the whole family. Marinha Beach is one of the most picturesque beaches in the entire region and is perfect for sand-castle building with the kids or enjoying some ‘me’ time with a good book. Praia Dos Pescadores is also an honourable mention for a more authentic Portuguese-style beach.
Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
Sharm El Sheikh could be considered the most exotic of our holiday hotspots on this list. It is also one of the most up and coming destinations anywhere in the world and brings a completely modernised twist to what most people think of when it comes to Egypt.
Sharm El Sheikh has its own airport and it will take you around 9 hours to get there from most
UK destinations. From there though, most of the major resorts are less than a half hour commute away, meaning you can touch down and be in your luxury resort in no time.
It is difficult to know where to begin with Sharm El Sheikh because there are so many incredible things to do and see. Ras Mohamed Nature Reserve is a simply idyllic day-out with stunning beaches, wildlife and even the opportunity for diving in the clear waters. Saint Catherine’s Monastery is a fascinating visit - a 6th century Greek monastery that is still extremely well-preserved. Perhaps the best thing to do in this destination though is to simply enjoy the experience and facilities of your own resort. Each resort is packed with swimming pools, activities for kids and adults, bars, restaurants, picturesque scenery and more. You could easily spend your entire holiday never leaving where you’re staying.
